One of the most confusing things that happen to a smart person is losing his/her smartness. Actually, it is not losing smartness, but losing concentration. This might cause several consequences in all the aspect of one’s life, such as personal, familial, professional, or educational career. That is why today I have decided to write this article about it; which I shall include as a healthy living for the people who suffer from this complication.
Personally, I had suffered this issue when I was younger. In my early years of studying in middle school and high school I was the brilliant student, but as soon as I got the college, I felt like I lost everything. The following ways to restore that ability and concentration are some of what I had done before I started my new brilliant career. Those tips shall provide you how to become smart again or rather more focusing than before.
If you want to keep with your fitness and your body shape, you will exercise. In order to avoid getting fat and gaining weight, you just go to a gym and work physically. Yet, this is not enough for a person to live healthily. We all have to keep our neurotransmitters and neural communications in our brain and nervous system. Therefore, if we want to restore our brains abilities and improve our mind functions, we have to follow some ‘exercises’ such as we are going to mention as tips. You shall keep your brain abilities and remain smart as you always were. Those tips shall help you increase your mind and brain ability.
First thing to do: Reading… and… Reading:
Just read, whatever you find, an article, a magazine, a newspaper, a book, a paper, a poster, just read anything. Reading is one of the most essential exercises to the mind and brain. As the proverb says, “reading to mind is what exercise to body”. Remember! The more you read difficult things to understand, the more you improve your mind abilities.
You only need to start reading little bit; like a paper a day or an article a day. Later, as you get used to this habit you shall increase the amounts of what you read. You might keep increasing the amount until you feel challenged.
Second thing to do is to learn New words:
If you see that you have a lack in your vocabulary and your mind part of the language, try to enrich it with learning new words. The more you live, the more you have to learn. Make a special schedule for you to learn a new word every day. That is one of the best way to ensure that you improve your mind and you develop it with time. The experts say that the best way to strengthen a memory is through learning a new language. Honestly, what is better for you than learning to communicate with more people?
Third thing to do is to write on papers, not keyboards (as I do ):
Writing and writing! Writing is obviously the most effective way to improve the ability of the brain. Why is that? Because writing requires a lot of effort, which improve your mind. There is a research that has been done for the sake of this topic. It showed that writing on papers (plans, stories, diaries, or whatever) with pens increase the skill of writing. It also makes the cognitivism stronger and improves the connection between the memory and the different information of different sources.
Fourth thing to do is to keep solving puzzles:
This is an easy game such as Sudoku and chess, so make it a part of your daily habits. They help your mind to accomplish some essential tasks that you feel lazy to do most of the time.
The harder is the puzzle, the more your brain abilities improve themselves. That is why; even those hard missions seem too hard and difficult so that they take lot time, they need more concentration, which increase those abilities. They help to avoid the conditions of memory and functions of the mind.
Fifth thing to do is to use the hand that you are not habituated to use:
Have you ever tried to use the other hand to do the normal tasks? It is hard, isn’t it? That might seem strange. But, the studies found that the attempt to use the other hand motivates the parts of the brain that are responsible for the muscles control.
The experts say that using the other hand makes the function between the right and the left sides of the brain better.
Sixth things to do are to talk, discuss, argue, and exchange ideas:
In order to exercise the mind perfectly, try to chat with the others. Try to know them more and to share with them what you think (thoughts). The next time you have a conversation with your friends or your family, try to talk deep. What we mean by talking deep is that you have to talk about serious topics such as politics, religions, science, creation, world, humanity, and so on. The topics should be challenging. Try to have a deep conversation and discuss instead of an argument. It is the best way to keep your way on your brain function and to enjoy your time.
Seventh thing is to learn; learn until you breathe the last:
Learn, learning is the key to everything. Learn a new habit, a new language, or anything important. Learning has its high benefits for sure. When you learn, you restore you mind abilities with the best way and best function. Challenge yourself and learn what you really want. With the advanced world we live in, you do not need to spend a lot of money and a lot of effort to go to a center where you learn those things, because the internet replaced all that and bought it to your own house freely.
Eighth things to do are to eat healthily, exercise, and to sleep enough:
The foods you eat play a major role in your mental functions, which proves that we have to eat healthy to have better function. The brain also needs the right fuel. Breakfasts are the most important meals for the brain. They play the major source of fuel to the brain with 40% of what the brain needs.
There are so many diets that proved their health effects on the brain functions. You need to eat mostly various and natural foods, such as fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk, and other animal products. Try to stay away from junk foods.
The good exercise does not help only the body, but also the brain. There is a saying that I heard says: the healthy brain is in the healthy body. The way you improve your physical health, you improve your mental health and your brain concentration.
The enough amount of sleep has a beneficent effect not only on brain, but also on any other aspect of life. sleep is necessary for the health of the body, the psychological side, the physical, the mental, and the spiritual. You do not have to sleep too much and not too little. Make for yourself a routine and a schedule. Try to sleep at the same time every day and wake up at the same time every day.
